I have seen a glimpse of the great beauty of the nations of the world. I have seen the diversity of cultures and faces. I have heard glorious sounds and tasted unique flavours. I have seen intricate and simple movements and stories unfold.
But I have seen also such a vast brokenness and injustice running rampant in the streets, bringing great sadness, abandonment, isolation, hatred, anger and exploitation.

My heart has been torn between so many emotions in my years of travels as a missionary and humanitarian aid volunteer with ‘Youth with a Mission’, wanting to find a way how to better serve people with the gifts and talents I have. I could not be indifferent. I was ‘feelingly alive to the suffering’ of my fellow people and I could not choose to look the other way. I was and continue to be hungry and thirsty for justice and freedom.

Being a dancer and other arts amateur, I know how powerful art can be to fight injustice and bring awareness. More notably, I knew the power it possessed to bring healing

Before, I wanted, dreamed even, about using art to help people overcome pain. Now, I am convinced that it is part of my mission in life.

And so I am beginning a new journey: A masters in Expressive Arts Therapy with a minor in Psichology, at the European Graduate School, in Saas-Fee, Switzerland, with the goal of learning a holistic and interactive approach in how to use dance and other art forms, to help survivors of human trafficking and engage them in a creative process specifically to further their emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration.

This blog is to document this journey. Come and join in the adventure!
